Before you tan

Prepare your skin

Good colour starts the day before. Give your skin time to settle so your mousse blends evenly.

Step 01

Prep the day before

Exfoliate 24 hours before tanning to remove dead skin and any old tan. Pay extra attention to elbows, knees, ankles and other dry areas.

If you shave or wax, do this at least 24 hours beforehand and allow your skin to settle. Moisturise after your prep to leave skin feeling soft and hydrated.

Step 02

Start clean and dry

Apply your tan to clean, completely dry skin, free from moisturiser, oils, deodorant and perfume.

Do not moisturise immediately before applying BODÈE. Keep moisturising to the day before and your aftercare routine.

If you’ve just showered, let your skin cool and dry fully before you begin.

Application

Build your bronze

Work slowly in sections, then leave the colour completely undisturbed while it develops.

Step 03

Blend, then pat

Apply the mousse to a tanning mitt and work in sections, starting at your legs and moving upwards.

Blend using circular motions. Once each section is evenly covered, gently pat the tan into your skin with the mitt.

Use only the leftover product on your mitt for hands, feet, elbows and knees. Blend carefully around wrists and ankles, and lightly bend your fingers when tanning your hands.

Let your skin dry before getting dressed in loose, dark clothing.

Step 04

Give it eight hours

Leave BODÈE on for a full eight hours before rinsing. Prefer to tan overnight? Apply before bed and make sure eight hours have passed before your morning rinse.

Avoid exercise, sweating, water and steam throughout development. Save your workout until after the full eight hours and your first rinse.

BODÈE is not sweatproof while developing.

After development

Rinse and maintain

Your first rinse sets the finish. Gentle aftercare helps your gym tan fade softly and evenly.

Step 05

Rinse gently

Rinse with lukewarm water only until the water runs clear.

For this first rinse, do not use soap, shower gel, scrubs or an exfoliating mitt. Keep it gentle, no hot water or scrubbing.

Afterwards, pat your skin dry with a soft towel. Do not rub.

Step 06

Keep it cared for

Once your tan has developed and you’ve completed your first rinse, moisturise daily to keep your skin hydrated.

Keep showers gentle, pat dry after washing and avoid exfoliating until you’re ready to remove your tan and start again.

After training, rinse away sweat and gently pat your skin dry.

Tips & tricks

Tip 01: Give hair removal time

Shave or wax at least 24 hours before tanning. This gives your skin time to settle and helps stop colour collecting around open pores.

Tip 02: Go lighter on dry areas

Use only the product left on your mitt for hands, feet, elbows and knees. These areas take colour quickly, so less product gives a softer finish.

Tip 03: Protect development time

Give your tan a full eight hours. Avoid exercise, sweating, water and steam until after your first rinse.

Tip 04: Keep skin hydrated

Moisturise every day after your first rinse. Gentle showers and patting skin dry help your colour fade evenly.
